NM TESOL Endorsement with TESOL Trainers

Today's teacher needs to possess the necessary tools to help the non-native English speaking students, ELLs, prepare for college and careers.

If you have your NM teaching license and want to earn your TESOL Endorsement from a university that offers more than just 6 credits, read about NMELL.

TESOL Trainers offers NMELL, an experiential TESOL Endorsement Program

TESOL Trainers provides an engaging and experiential approach to earning your NM TESOL Endorsement.  The New Mexico English Language Learner Initiative, NMELL, was designed to provide K-12 educators with a TESOL Endorsement program that not only earns them the 6 graduate credits they need for the TESOl Endorsement but also helps them transform their teaching  to meet the needs of ELLs.

Don't just get TESOL Endorsed; get TESOL Inspired©

TESOL Trainer's TESOL Endorsement, NMELL, is a fully accredited course that awards successful participants with 6 graduate credits from the School for International Training, one of the most respected teacher training colleges in the world.

This NM TESOL Endorsement Program is distinctively different from other TESOL Endorsement programs.  Rather than lecturing on student-centered learning, TESOL Trainers gives teachers practical strategies and techniques they can immediately implement in the classroom to support their English language learners.

Benefits of the NMELL TESOL Endorsement Program

According to the State of New Mexico's Public Education Department (PED), a licensed teacher must have 6 upper division credits in TESOL related coursework.  See requirements here.  While two 3-credit courses at your local community college will help you meet this requirement, they will most likely have little impact on developing new skills.

NMELL is a TESOL Endorsement Program that uses the Experiential Learning Cycle as a vehicle for informing and transforming an educator's teaching practices.
  1. The experiential format of this TESOL Endorsement Program scaffolds teachers into applying TESOL strategies with the ELLs in their classrooms.
  2. The focus on reflective teaching practices helps educators refine their understanding of the fundamental principles of teaching and learning.
  3. The interactive nature of this NM TESOL Endorsement program engages participants and teaches them to continuously engage their all of their students, including the ELLs.
  4. The practical TESOL strategies and techniques are adaptable and classroom-ready.
  5. The flexible design and delivery of the course can be modified to meet the needs of your educational institution.

NMELL TESOL Endorsement Overview

Design:  The NMELL TESOL Endorsement Program can be designed as a traditional, face to face course or as a hybrid course with part of the work online and another portion in a classroom.

Delivery:  This TESOL endorsement program for licensed teachers in the state of New Mexico is offered in three.
  1. 1 month:  This intensive, 20-day course is offered during the months of June and July.  In addition to receiving 6 graduate credits towards your NM TESOL Endorsement, you also earn a TESOL Certificate (TESOL for adult learners) from the School for International Training.
  2. 1 semester:  This format breaks the semester into two 8-week course sessions;  this can be done in a traditional format or with an online component.
  3. 1 academic year:  This is a more relaxed format in which educators take one course per semester.  The extended nature of this format helps teachers implement TESOL and Sheltered Instructional techniques confidently.
